Today, I am back on land. Yet my home is greater than any single place: it lives in the rhythm between sea and shore, between departure and return. What I have learned and lived at sea, I now carry forward – continuing to dedicate myself to environmental and nature conservation from here, with the same devotion.

When I stand on deck in the morning and the wind hums through the rigging, I know: this is home.
A home not made of walls, but of motion – of salt, wind, and light that plays across the water.
Out on the blue roads of the world, I often think of a small, remarkable bird: the white-throated dipper.
I know it only through the photographs of Anne Lindner – that fearless little singer who lives between air and water, calm and full of energy.
Her images capture nature with such truth and tenderness that you can almost breathe them in.
For me, the dipper has become more than a bird.
It is a symbol of belonging – a life between worlds, between stillness and movement, between the breath of the earth and my own.
One day, I hope to see it myself, by a mountain stream, among stones and moss.
Until then, the thought of it travels with me – a quiet reminder of how beautiful it is to belong to this living world.
That same sense of wonder guides me across the sea – where silence speaks in waves, and meaning is found in motion.
Connection with nature – and with ourselves
Out there, I live what I teach: humility, attentiveness, and care.
When I stand at the bow and the spray lifts over the rail, I am reminded how small I am – and how vast the whole to which we belong.
Like the dipper, moving between water and air, I move between land and sea.
I dive in where others depart, linking worlds that rarely meet.
As a sailor and creator of sustainable projects, I see in the ocean not only freedom, but also responsibility.
For me, sailing is a form of learning – connecting people, places, and ideas; bringing together scientists, activists, and maritime professionals to chart new courses toward climate justice and a more sustainable future.
Rethinking home – with heart and wind
For me, home can be many things – a journey, a harbor, a moment.
Or the quiet recognition of a wild creature I have never met, yet carry deeply within me.
The dipper has become a symbol of that connection.
My home lies in transition – in leaving and arriving, in wind and waiting, in observing and acting.
When I sail, I feel part of something larger – the sea, the creatures within it, and the people who share a love for this extraordinary planet.
Because home grows where attentiveness begins.
Where responsibility is embraced.
Where we keep our sense of wonder alive.
The sea, the forests, the unspoiled landscapes remind me again and again: we are guests on this earth.
And sometimes, if we are lucky, we get to witness its quiet miracles.
Perhaps one day, I will stand by that river, between the mountains, and see it – the dipper.
Just as Anne once did.
And then, the image will come alive within me – no camera needed, only heart.

What the PeggyMerkur.blog Highlights
My articles include the topic of sailed coffee, cacao and other products. It describes how cargo is transported to Europe aboard the traditional sailing cargo ships.
The story connects sailed products like coffee with ethical environmental values, emphasizing a clean future, sustainable consumption, and conscious use of resources.
Sailed coffee is presented as an expression of a lifestyle and value system rooted in sustainability.
Conclusion – Why Sailed Coffee/Cacao Support Ocean Protection
✅ Mission Zero → low CO₂ emissions → reduced climate stress on oceans
✅ Low noise levels → less disturbance to marine life
✅ Reduced pollutants (sulfur and nitrogen oxides)
✅ Fair and stable prices → up to three times the world market price for farmers
✅ Strong symbolic impact → raises awareness for sustainable shipping and ocean protection
