If every action matters, what would happen if we were brave? From 17–19 January 2026, Fair Winds Collective will be at boot Düsseldorf, sharing emission-free sailing, education, and climate action. Through talks and our Flags of Hope workshop, Peggy from the Fair Winds Collective invites visitors to rethink how we move, learn, and care for the ocean.
At the MCN Cup in Bremen, Fair Winds Collective reached the top three among innovative maritime projects. Our mission-zero, wind-powered approach resonated strongly with industry leaders and sparked valuable conversations. This recognition confirms that practical, emission-free solutions are gaining momentum, and that collaboration - not greenwashing - is what truly moves the maritime sector forward.
Fair Winds Collective, is bringing emission-free ocean science to sea through a collaboration with SOOP (Shaping an Ocean of Possibilities), Fair Transport’s Tres Hombres, and Tilvera Expeditions. By installing PlanktoScope instruments on wind-powered sailing vessels, the initiative enables high-quality plankton monitoring without adding emissions. This growing instrument pool supports global ocean observation, open data, and sustainable research - powered by wind and collaboration.

At FICCA 2025 in Neiva, Colombia, KaapKargo, partner of Fair Winds Collective, showcased zero-emission, wind-powered maritime logistics. Sailing aboard Ide Min, the crew supports organic coffee and cacao producers, ensuring ethical, traceable, and sustainable trade from farm to Europe, inspiring cleaner, fairer, and climate-conscious global commerce.
The 6th-grade classes welcomed a special guest: Peggy Engelmann, former colleague and founder of Fair Winds Collective. She shared her inspiring story of transporting fair trade organic products across the Atlantic by sailing ship. The students explored topics of sustainable trade, life aboard a tall ship, and the environmental challenges facing our oceans today. Peggy’s message was clear: protecting the seas means rethinking how we transport goods. The visit ended on a sweet note—with a taste of fairly sailed, organic chocolate.
Deep in Colombia, the KaapKargo crew explored organic coffee and cacao farms, connecting with farmers and learning about sustainable, fair trade practices. Sailing aboard Ide Min under the Mission Zero initiative, in partnership with Fair Winds Collective, they combine wind-powered transport with ethical sourcing, creating direct, transparent, and meaningful trade experiences.
