Sailed Coffee "Segel-Kaffee" for the FairTradeTown Halle
Presentation:23.09.20, 4.00 p.m. under the Lutherlinde (Great Brunnenstraße 63, Himmel & Erde, Bioladen Halle), please bring a picnic blanket and coffee mug. 7 p.m. at the Coffee Roastery Roy (Hansering 21, Halle).
On September 23, 2020, the longed-for sailing coffee will come to Halle.
After seven months of sailing, Peggy Engelmann is now back. The cooperation, between Coffee Roastery Roy (Halle), Café Chavalo (Leipzig), the WaJut (Waldorf Jugendtreff Halle) with her student company "Art to cook" and the sailing environmental educator Peggy Engelmann, leads to success. With the Avontuur, the oldest sailing freighter in Germany, the Hallenserin travelled half the world. In doing so, it is sending a clear signal to Saxony-Anhalt, the city of Halle, with its activists and suporters. Clean, environmentally friendly transport routes, low-emission. Products of biological origin and fair traded. As FairTradeTown, not only many grown inhabitants, but also young people and children want another step towards a livable future. The students of WaJut, politician Wolfgang Aldag and the dedicated citizens start 10 a.m. in Leipzig (Café Chavalo) with the cargo bike. The aim is to bring the raw, still green coffee beans to Halle to the coffee roaster Roy. Later, they are roasted, ground and prepared together. The city council in Halle can then enjoy the scent of coffee with future, served by the student company. The black liquid gold not only tastes good, but should also inspire us to be more politically active in our environment for now and our future.
For all those interested, there will be two of the sailing expeditions Presentation: to celebrate the day. Peggy first presents at 4 p.m. under the Lutherlinde (Great Brunnenstraße 63, Himmel & Erde, Bioladen Halle), please bring a picnic blanket and coffee mugs. And then in the evening 7 p.m. at the Coffee Roastery Roy (Hansering 21 Hall). She looks back on her experiences and presents her impressions in picture & sound recordings. There is also, of course, sailing coffee. You can register for it by firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 01786984125.
